Warm-up games

Loosen up. Get brave.

Fast, silly, out-loud. Do them standing. Every finish earns a ★.

Emotion Roulette

Say the line — but drenched in the feeling. Commit fully; it's supposed to be too much.

Emotion Switch · timed

Keep saying your line. Every few seconds the app throws a new feeling — switch instantly, no stopping. It speeds up.

Status Swap

Play the task at that status. A 1 slinks; a 10 owns the room. Feel it in your spine.

The Numbers Game

The classic. You may only say numbers — "one, two, three…" — but make us feel the whole scene.

Tongue-Twister Gauntlet · combo

Say it three times, fast and clean, before the clock. Rate yourself and build a combo.

Character Spinner

Instant person. Say one line as them — then, if you like, hand them to ESPO Studios for a whole monologue.

Story Spine · improv

Build a story out loud, one piece at a time. Tap for the next beat and keep it going — no planning, just talk.

Director's Note

Take any line you like. The director gives one adjustment — do it again, changed. Great for finding new colors.

Cold-Read Curveball

Read the two lines aloud. At "GO," a curveball changes everything — adjust without stopping.

Projection Meter · optional mic

Can you fill the back row? Turn on the mic and push the bar past the line — then hold it there for 3 seconds without shouting or straining.

the line is at 70% — reach it and hold

🔒 Live only. Your mic drives the bar in the moment — nothing is recorded, saved, or sent. Leave the game and it's gone.

Prep a piece

Break it down. Run it.

Bring your piece

Paste a monologue — or open the library for one to practice with.

Want a fresh one written? ESPO Studios drafts from a subject.

Break it down

Acting is wanting something. One honest line each — there's no wrong answer, only a choice.

Who am I?

Who I am in this moment.

Who am I talking to?

Picture one real person. What are they to me?

Where & when?

The room, the moment, what just happened.

What do I want?

An active verb, at the other person. "To make them…"

What's in my way?

Why don't I have it yet?

What changes?

The line where something shifts — the "turn."

The last beat

Where do I leave them — and me?

My secret

One thing I know but never say out loud.

Get it in your body

Out loud, standing up. This is where "memorized" becomes "meant."

Say the whole thing in your words. If you can say it plainly, you understand it.

Before each sentence, silently finish "I'm saying this to make you…" — your want: .

Say the first line three times: once hot (push), once cold (hold back), once true (just mean it). Keep the one that surprised you.

Run it

Stand up, start the clock, go all the way through — mistakes and all. Turn on the teleprompter if you want the words to scroll with you.

I knew what I wanted in every line.
I listened — I didn't just wait to talk.
Something changed in me at the turn.
I stayed in it through the mistakes.
The end meant something.
Calm the nerves

Nerves are fuel.

They're energy with nowhere to go. Give them somewhere — one minute is enough.

Box breathing · 60s

breathe

In 4 · hold 4 · out 4 · hold 4. Feet on the floor.

Shake it out · 15s

Shake your hands, then arms, then the whole body — like flinging off water. Loud sigh at the end. It resets the nervous system fast.

0:15

Power pose · 20s

Stand tall, hands on hips or arms up like you just won. Hold it. It's not woo — it's borrowing the body of someone brave.

0:20

One true line

"I don't have to be perfect. I just have to want it."

Say it out loud. That's the whole job.
